Congratulations Kaitlyn

It's report card time. Kailtyn received 7 perfect A's! Congratulations!

12 Days and Counting

Tim and I are leaving on the 12th for a 7 night cruise to Mexico with my cousins: Karen, David, Julie and Jonathon, and my mom. We're visiting the ports of Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan, and Puerta Vallarta. Can't wait!

Thank you 3/4 of the Fabulous Foursome!

This afternoon these beautiful flowers were delivered to my doorstep from my three favorite members of the Fab Four.

Thank you for thinking of me and sending me your wishes for a speedy recovery! I'll be good as new (and hopefully better!) soon.

I hear that Six Olives might be calling the names of the Fab Four. I sure hope its in the near future!

Series 7 Survival

I get the BEST gifts!

This morning I received The Series Seven Survival Kit. The instructions read: "in case of emergency, break open kit! add ice, combine everything and toast to the wonder that is Lady Kristine!"

The kit contains sugar, a lemon, and best of all, Stoli Raspberry vodka.

Thank you Miss Mauss!

Some of you know that I started studying for the Series 7 brokerage license exam last summer. After getting through Chapter 8 in September, I threw the materials in a cabinet and ignored them, completely defeated!

Since I believe in keeping my commitments, I am starting over, fresh with the New Year. After a disaster with the Chapter 1 test this weekend, I needed a little encouragement; it came in the form of the Survival Kit this morning. I have also been promised a trip to Six Olives Lounge once I get through one quarter of the material. That's page 195 and I should be there by two weeks from Friday!

When I pass the test (notice I said "when" and not "if"!!!!) my wonderful hubby is going to spring for the Dooney & Bourke purse of my choice! That's big time. I better get to studying!

I am truly blessed to have such incredible friends and a loving supportive husband!

Poker Party

posted at the request of Mr. Block

Last week Tim and I went to a poker party at our friend's Pam & John's house. Despite Tim's victory pose, the Babbitt's did not do well. Kris went out second (at least I wasn't the first one out!) and shortly thereafter, Tim went out too. Even though we went home with no money to show for our obviously incredible poker skills, we had a fun time with friends. Thank you John and Pam for hosting this event. Next time, we anticipate coming home with more money than we took with us!

New Years Eve

Tim and I celebrated the end of 2005 and the beginning of 2006 in several ways. (Tim was not in a photo posing mood, as evident by the our photo below!) The afternoon started with a trip to the SuperMall where I got an adorable pair of shoes! We then headed over to the Iron Horse where we met up with two of Tim's work buddies: Kenny and Don. We played pool for a few hours. Yes! I even played. Thanks to some great coaching by Kenny, I made several shots. Imagine that! I even hit in the 8 ball, the only problem is that pesky white cue ball went in too. Oh well....no one is perfect!

We then headed to Stanley and Seaforts in Tacoma where we met up with Chris Lyons for a Lemon Drop before she headed off to her poker party. Chris even willingly posed for this photo (look - no hand in front of her face - wow!) .

Our evening was suppose to conclude with The Boinkers, but Tim decided he didn't want to stand in line for 1/2 hour or pay the cover charge. So we turned the Volvo around and headed to the Emerald Queen for some free entertainment. Not sure how it's "free" when we spent money gambling, but that's another story. Anyway the music sucked and we ended up leaving at 11:20 p.m. Tim and I celebrated the stroke of midnight in the drive through at Jack in the Box. How romantic!

All in all, it wasn't a bad New Year's Eve as we got a chance to spend some time with great friends, which was a perfect end to the year! Happy New Year and may 2006 bring us all prosperity and good health!

Christmas Card Count

I borrowed a chapter from the "Book of Shelley" and decided to compare the Christmas versus Holiday cards. Including the cards that arrived in the mail tonight, we have Holiday is leading the way with 14 and Christmas only has 9. Are we forgetting the real reason for the season?!

Jr. High "Flash Back"

It was "Flash Back" Day at school last week. Kailtyn was dressed adorably from the 50's complete with the poodle skirt and initial sweater (just like Laverne from "Laverne & Shirley"). I know I'm a little biased, but she's so darn precious!

Kaitlyn Got Her Wish!

It was a snow day in Puyallup today. Schools were closed as we got 5 inches of snow. Kailtyn spent the day playing with Bailey in the snow and creating this beautiful snowman, complete with hat, mittens, and scarf.

The SNOW continues!

It stopped snowing for several hours late this afternoon and this evening. But it's started back up again and the white stuff is falling hard. Kaitlyn is doing her "there won't be school tomorrow" happy dance. When this photo was taken just a few minutes ago, we have 3 inches of snow already!

It's Snowing!

Schools closed early in Puyallup this afternoon and I didn't know why until I got home. It is a winter wonderland up here on South Hill. The snow is beautiful. The roads in the valley were just wet, but up here they are slushy and the side roads are nasty. Just imagine what it will be like by peak commute hours. Thankfully Kaitlyn, Bailey and I are safe at home. Some of us are even playing in the snow!
