Our Kids Can Board!

After a week at Sun Lakes Resort, all 3 kids were able to ride the wakeboard. Rose was the first to conquer the challenge but Kaitlyn and Derek finally made it happen on our last day.
The weather was HOT (think 100+) and the water cool. Even Bailey got to enjoy the water with his little doggie life jacket.

More photos to be posted soon!

Relay For Life 2006

Kaitlyn did it again! She raised $1271.80 in the fight against cancer! Our final team totals won't be available for a few weeks, but we crossed over the $47,000 mark yesterday on our way to $50,000. With all of our efforts, and the generosity of our family and friends, they will find a cure for this insidious disease. What an example Kaitlyn sets, not only for kids her age, but for adults too. She's out there doing something to make a difference!

"Big K and Little C" were so cute together! The little Caitlyn, who belongs to John and Nell Evans, is going to have to grow up knowing that her parents spelled her name wrong! Oh well, at least she has a great role-model in Kaitlyn with a "K". We might be looking at two future Relay Event Chairs in the making!

Happy Father's Day!

Tim's Father's Day included breakfast made by his lovely wife, a gift left by his adorable step-daughter before she went to KY, and lunch at Alki with his kids. We ate pizza at Pegaus (except Rose, she had spagetti) and then took a brief walk down the beach, it was a little chilly, but we did stop for a quick photo of Sir Timothy and his royal children. Then we made a stop for ice cream at Baskin & Robbins. It was not a low-calorie day!

The second photo is a self-portrait of Tim and Rose at the Meeker Days in Puyallup last weekend. Tim is practicing his "old man" look with the glasses extremely low on his face. (Doesn't his head look really big?!)

Happy Father's Day Tim!

Student of the Year

Kailtyn received 3 awards today during the Junior High Awards Assembly. She received Student of the Year nominated by her Bible teachers and selected from all of the 8th grade as the student that most portrayed Christ-like qualities. She also received the President's Award for Academic Excellence, signed by George Bush himself, for her amazing grades and academic achievement. Finally, she received the Citizenship Award, that was awarded to only 10 8th graders for exemplifying Christ and leadership in her school and community.

Kakin Rocks!!!

Again, I am reminded how blessed I am to have such a wonderful daughter!

Recurring Theme

Why is it that Sir Timothy feels the need to lift up his shirt in photos?

Happy 15th Rose!

Happy Birthday to You!
Happy Birthday to You!
Happy Birthday Dear Rose....
Happy Birthday to You!

Holy Moly! In 6 months she gets her driving permit!

Strong Chicks

Don't these girls look tough?
This is one of my favorite photos from last night's Fabulous Foursome trek to Kirkland for a cooking class. The class was a gift from Dani for all of us for Christmas, and we worked the timing out to be a "field trip" for Smellavision's birthday.
I do have to say, I take some mighty fine photos! (Yes, I realize that VERY expensive equipment might have made just the slightest bit of difference in my photographic capabilities!)

First Blooms

Our Lady of Guadalupe has her first blooms...the Rose bush, not the sacred Catholic church!

Thanks to that special person that bought me this beautiful rose bush to make up for the fact that I didn't get to see the beautiful Our Lady of Guadalupe church in Puerto Vallarta this spring.
By the way, Happy Birthday to the rose giver! Watch out, cuz 30 is just around the corner!
Since I'm posting flowers...Miss Kakin just took a FABULOUS photo of our lilly bush. Looks like Miss Mauss might get some competition as Kakin might be the next published photographer!

Beauty Queen

Where has my little girl gone? She has transformed into a beautiful young lady!! The photos are of Miss Kaitlyn on her way to the Moving Up Dinner - celebrating moving from Junior High up to High School. I'm not sure how this happened so fast - she was just a toddler and now she's on her way to High School!

Happy Mother's Day

My Mother's Day began with breakfast in bed created with love by Tim and Kaitlyn. I was served an omelet, bacon and delicious coffee. I received a beautiful flower pin and a really cute teal wallet, both items I had wanted.

The day continued when my Mom arrived for our traditional steaks on the grill Mother's Day dinner. We played a family favorite tile game(that I never remember the name of). The most important part is that I won! (No, I'm not a bit competitive!)

Thanks Mom for all you've done for me and my precious Kaitlyn! Happy Mother's Day!

Kaitlyn Rocks!

Kaitlyn is once again participating in Relay For Life. Below is a little excerpt from her letter asking friends and family for donations.
You can visit her very own Relay website by clicking on this link: Kaitlyn Relay

"This year I am walking for another reason. My grandmother has recently been diagnosed with lung cancer. I’m walking to provide hope not only for my grandmother but also my mom’s friend, Dani, who is still battling cancer.

Relay For Life is important to me because there are so many, like my grandmother and Dani, that need to have a chance at hope. I am doing what I can to help them by taking part in Relay and raising money to help find a cure and better treatments for cancer. No one deserves to suffer through cancer. Those of us that don’t have cancer need to help those that do, because you never know when you may need someone’s help.

I may be only 13, but I can make a difference!"

God blessed me with a truly amazing child!

Tiptoe

...Through the Tulips! I love this time of year when the tulips in our yard start coming up. They come up in waves of color, with pink being first, followed by red, yellow and finally white. They are so pretty!

Small Joys!

We got a new computer! Yeah! No more banging my head against the wall when the piece of crap that we had took 4 tries to start and would never turn off. What a pain....but a pain that is no longer! It is SO NICE to be able to turn on the computer and have it boot up normally (and quickly) the very first time you turn it on.

Other happenings in the Babbitt household since the last post - which was a long time ago!

Kaitlyn finished up basketball season with a 6-4 record. Photos will be posted as soon as they are brought home from school. The Junior High track season started yesterday with after-school practice. Report cards also were mailed last week and what a surprise, but she got straight As again. Wow! Nicely done Katie Sue!

Tim spent a weekend in Montana with our friends John and Pam. He played "personal mechanic" for them, checking out their new boat purchase. This summer should be lots of fun on the water!

Tim and Derek went to Safeco Field last weekend but were no help to the Mariners, as they lost to the Oakland As.

The best way to keep track of Rose is through her MySpace account. That's how I learn all sorts of interesting things....like how she keeps dropping her digital camera that we bought her for Christmas!

Best Buds

Kaitlyn and MacKenna have gone to school together and have been friends since they were 4 years old. I couldn't have hand-picked a better friend for Kaitlyn. I simply adore Mac and think she is a huge asset in Kaitlyn's life.

Last week they both received High Honors for their Academic Excellence. Nicely done ladies!
