Birthday Party

Today Kaitlyn finally had her 14th birthday party. The girls (and Derek) had pizza, brownies and then headed off to the movies to see The Pirates of the Caribbean 2.

Bye Bye Hair!

Tonight Kaitlyn took a HUGE step.....she had 10 inches of her hair cut off! Wow! She's holding 8 inches of it in her hand in the photo and another 2 inches hit the salon floor.
It's amazing how much older she looks without the long ponytail! She's donating the wad of hair she's holding to Locks of Love to benefit kids that have lost their hair due to cancer or other medical conditions. Since Kaitlyn has fabulous thick hair, it will make a beautiful hair piece for someone!

A Room with a View!

....but not the room you'd expect to have this kind of a view!

Last Friday I was able to go to the Columbia Tower Club in downtown Seattle for a celebration lunch with some lovely ladies from work.
The photo is the view from my individual bathroom stall in the ladies restroom - 76 floors above the city. It's quite the view of the Seattle, Lake Washington and the Cascades! Just incredible, especially for a ladies restroom!

Bliss

Today we went to the wedding of Stephanie-Sue and Kyle. It was a beautifully personal ceremony at the Edgewater Hotel on the waterfront in downtown Seattle. The bride cried through the ceremony, as did most of us in the audience. The bride and groom appear to be a perfect match.

This photo was completely candid, the bride and groom had no idea I was photographing them and I just captured a personal moment.

The photo editing was compliments of Shelley Mauss Photography. I can't wait to order it and send it to the bride and groom as a surprise!

Happy 14th Birthday Kaitlyn!!!

Happy Birthday to You!
Happy Birthday to You!
Happy Birthday Dear Katie Sue!
Happy Birthday to You!

Wishing you pure joy and happiness as you experience the coming year and your first year of high school! I love you (more than the whole sky)!

(Yes, she did get a laptop for her birthday!)

Beautiful Day on the Water

Yesterday we spent the day on the water with our friends, Pam & John, in their brand new 26.5 foot Cobalt. What an amazing boat. Tim got boat-envy all over again! We cruised through Lake Washington, Lake Union, and out through the Ballard Locks into the Sound. We then headed to Seattle and around Alki point. The weather was amazing - got just a little more sun!

Crazy Appletons!

Our cousins, Julie & Jonathan, came "home" for a quick visit. (They moved to Connecticut last winter). We spent the day at her parent's house in Sequim for a wonderful day of friends, family, and of course, food. We went out to the backyard for a photo op, after one attempt at the boring group photo, we followed the crazy appleton photo theory and did the piggy-back pose! We are nothing, if not mature!
We love you guys. Come back for a visit soon or at least, let's get working on our next vacation! And this time Julie, if you've read this blog post, comment so I know you were here! :)

Our Kids Can Board!

After a week at Sun Lakes Resort, all 3 kids were able to ride the wakeboard. Rose was the first to conquer the challenge but Kaitlyn and Derek finally made it happen on our last day.
The weather was HOT (think 100+) and the water cool. Even Bailey got to enjoy the water with his little doggie life jacket.

More photos to be posted soon!

Relay For Life 2006

Kaitlyn did it again! She raised $1271.80 in the fight against cancer! Our final team totals won't be available for a few weeks, but we crossed over the $47,000 mark yesterday on our way to $50,000. With all of our efforts, and the generosity of our family and friends, they will find a cure for this insidious disease. What an example Kaitlyn sets, not only for kids her age, but for adults too. She's out there doing something to make a difference!

"Big K and Little C" were so cute together! The little Caitlyn, who belongs to John and Nell Evans, is going to have to grow up knowing that her parents spelled her name wrong! Oh well, at least she has a great role-model in Kaitlyn with a "K". We might be looking at two future Relay Event Chairs in the making!

Happy Father's Day!

Tim's Father's Day included breakfast made by his lovely wife, a gift left by his adorable step-daughter before she went to KY, and lunch at Alki with his kids. We ate pizza at Pegaus (except Rose, she had spagetti) and then took a brief walk down the beach, it was a little chilly, but we did stop for a quick photo of Sir Timothy and his royal children. Then we made a stop for ice cream at Baskin & Robbins. It was not a low-calorie day!

The second photo is a self-portrait of Tim and Rose at the Meeker Days in Puyallup last weekend. Tim is practicing his "old man" look with the glasses extremely low on his face. (Doesn't his head look really big?!)

Happy Father's Day Tim!

Student of the Year

Kailtyn received 3 awards today during the Junior High Awards Assembly. She received Student of the Year nominated by her Bible teachers and selected from all of the 8th grade as the student that most portrayed Christ-like qualities. She also received the President's Award for Academic Excellence, signed by George Bush himself, for her amazing grades and academic achievement. Finally, she received the Citizenship Award, that was awarded to only 10 8th graders for exemplifying Christ and leadership in her school and community.

Kakin Rocks!!!

Again, I am reminded how blessed I am to have such a wonderful daughter!

Recurring Theme

Why is it that Sir Timothy feels the need to lift up his shirt in photos?

Happy 15th Rose!

Happy Birthday to You!
Happy Birthday to You!
Happy Birthday Dear Rose....

Holy Moly! In 6 months she gets her driving permit!

Strong Chicks

Don't these girls look tough?
This is one of my favorite photos from last night's Fabulous Foursome trek to Kirkland for a cooking class. The class was a gift from Dani for all of us for Christmas, and we worked the timing out to be a "field trip" for Smellavision's birthday.
I do have to say, I take some mighty fine photos! (Yes, I realize that VERY expensive equipment might have made just the slightest bit of difference in my photographic capabilities!)
